Want to grow food at home?

Bartram’s Incredible Garden Beds (B.I.G. Beds), a project of the Sankofa Community Farm, provides low-cost raised garden beds — including soil and starter plants — for residents living near Bartram’s Garden in Southwest Philadelphia.

Priority will be given to those living closest to Bartram’s Garden. Garden beds are installed between spring and fall in order of request.

Sliding Scale Pricing

  • Small garden bed (3 feet x 5 feet): $25-$100
  • Large garden bed (4 feet x 6 feet): $40-$120

Costs include the garden bed itself, installation, soil, and starter plants.

If you are paying with an ACCESS/EBT card for seedlings and starter plants, we can supply the garden bed and soil at no additional cost.
