Home Garden Beds

Want to grow food at home?

Bartram’s Incredible Garden Beds (B.I.G. Beds), a project of the Sankofa Community Farm, provides low-cost raised garden beds — including soil and starter plants — for residents living near Bartram’s Garden in Southwest Philadelphia.

To request a home garden bed, please fill out the form below. Garden beds will be installed between spring and fall in order of request.

If you’ve already applied for a garden bed, a member of our staff will be in touch soon with more information about when to expect your garden bed.

Please also check out our other resources for growers and gardeners, including free workshops, online resources, and more.

Sliding Scale Pricing

  • Small garden bed (3 feet x 5 feet): $25-$100

Costs include the garden bed itself, installation, soil, and starter plants.

If you are paying with an ACCESS/EBT card for seedlings and starter plants, we can supply the garden bed and soil at no additional cost.
