What’s next for Bartram’s Garden?

Bartram’s Garden is preparing for our next strategic plan, which will outline and organize our priorities and goals for 2025–2030, and we need your input!

Through conversations with neighbors, staff, Board members, and program partners, we’ve identified the following key focus areas for Bartram’s Garden. Please take a look and then respond to the brief questions below to add your voice to this conversation!

Your answers will be kept confidential and will inform the work of the Strategic Planning Committee.

About This Process

The Garden’s current strategic plan was adopted by the Board of Directors in 2017 and governs our work through 2025.

In preparation for creating a new five-year plan, in Spring 2024 we assembled a Strategic Planning Committee comprised of members of the staff, Board, and the Southwest Philadelphia Community Leadership Team. We also issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to identify a facilitator or consultant team who could partner with us to develop the plan. All members of the staff, Board, and Southwest Leaders were invited to participate in reviewing and scoring proposals and in attending and scoring the finalist presentations.

After a competitive selection process, we were thrilled to begin work with consultant Jennifer Shropshire. We think you’ll like her, too!

Our work together includes extensive opportunities in Fall 2024 for input and feedback from the Garden’s visitors, neighbors, program partners, funders, elected officials, volunteers, and other stakeholders. In Winter 2025, the staff, Board, and Southwest Leaders will refine the draft plan and strategic priorities, and we expect to have a new strategic plan approved in Spring 2025.
