In this workshop we will discuss the art of getting close to flowers, plants, and nature. Concepts such as lens selection, magnification ranges, various optical and mechanical methods for getting close, issues of critical focus and depth-of-field, techniques for camera support and vibration control, and much more will be discussed. Opportunities for in class shooting at Bartram’s Garden will help drive home these concepts and open up a whole new world of seeing flowers and plants for students.
