The Well Tree Performance

Join the Heartwood Trio for an all-ages, participatory journey through story and song. The Well Tree is a three-person musical, illustrated with a ‘crankie’—an illuminated, papercut, hand-cranked scroll. It is an original ‘singing story’ about a young woman moving beyond the fog of isolation and shame to meet songbirds, snails, and ancient trees as she finds her way home.

Heartwood Trio – Heartwood is a trio of singers and instrumentalists creating new music born from time in wild places. With rich vocal harmonies and inviting lyrics, they create music in collaboration with the natural world and weave songs that invite people to join in the singing.
Heidi Wilson, Sarina Partridge, and Willy Clemetson first came together as a trio in 2021 during a musical intensive on Rabbit Island in Lake Superior where they lived away from other humans and electricity for 2.5 weeks. They immediately fell in love with the experience of listening deeply in that elemental place and then creating new songs together- bringing them to life with harmonies, banjo, fiddle, and guitar. Heartwood quickly became known for offering performances and community singing workshops that are accessible to people of all ages and abilities, and that fill the room with joy! They released their first album in 2024.
