“Unobstructed Views is the testimony of an incarcerated man who had to fight against a flawed criminal justice system and other bureaucratic agencies while coping with the trauma of being in prison. This book is not an autobiography but reads as a journal at times. I wrote about my experiences, thoughts, and beliefs to push myself through some of the most difficult moments in my life. Writing became therapeutic for me to cope with the systemic racism, disappointments, setbacks, and losses of every magnitude. My mind has been liberated. This project was born from that liberation.” – Derek Clark
Join us for a writing workshop with Author Derek Clark as he sheds light on the process that helped him through some of his toughest moments. Growing up in SW Philadelphia as a teen and young adult has inspired him to give back to the community that played such a major role in who he is today.
After the workshop from 1-2pm, Derek will read some passages from his book and share some special insights. Books will be available for purchase and the author will be available to sign your purchased copy from 2-4pm.
