Family Outdoor Movie Night: The Wiz Presented in partnership with MythMedia Studio’s AfroFuture Cinema Classics
Join us after sundown in the courtyard for a free screening of The Wiz.
Ease on down the road with Li Sumpter of MythMedia Studios for an interactive screening of The Wiz (1978)—a classic Afrofuturist tale of a young Harlem woman’s quantum quest to the magical City of Oz. Attendees of all ages are invited to sing along with this beloved Motown musical and make cool collage art inspired by the film. Lyrics and art supplies provided! Come early for MythMedia prize giveaways and a pre-screening discussion that peeks behind the curtain into the magical World of Oz. Guest speakers include Vince Williams, Ph.D. of the Micheaux Mission and Walter Deshields of Theatre in the X. Plus, enjoy a special pop-up performance by Terrell Green of Theatre in the X and a Wiz inspired playlist from DJ PS3!
