“The Great Blue Heron” is a newly formed collective of some of Philadelphia’s very best Avant-Garde and Free Jazz musicians performing improvised compositions through deep listening and creative reaction. Led by Bass Clarinetist Mike Watson.

As with the heron itself, the music strives for patience, timing, and grace. Yet searches for detail and knows when to fly away.
