Spring Open House and Plant Sale (2017)

April 22, 2017 @ 5:00 am - 11:00 am

|Recurring Event (See all)

The doors are open! This year, for our annual Spring Plant Sale, we’re throwing the doors wide open on the 1731 Bartram House for visitors to wander through on their own. Come see all the house as you’ve never seen it before and pack a picnic!

As ever, the Spring Plant Sale will feature a unique selection of heritage roses, pond plants, historic boxwoods, vegetable and herbs starts, as well as beautiful native perennials, shrubs, and trees. Horticulturalists will be on hand to answer questions and share garden-planning advice. Check out the full array of plants available for purchase this year! Bartram’s Garden Members enjoy first pick of this year’s fabulous selection of plants during our Member Preview Party on Friday, April 21, plus discounts on plant and Welcome Center purchases!

Here are some of the other exciting events happening that day:

  • Tours of the house and garden, every hour on the hour
  • FREE samplings and demonstrations by Philly Homebrew
  • Our first Saturday Free Public Boating of the year!

UPDATE SATURDAY MORNING: BOATING CANCELLED DUE TO HEAVY RAIN LAST NIGHT.

That same day, be sure to join us for the ribbon-cutting of the Bartram’s Mile section of the Schuylkill River Trail at 11:00 am!
