Special Volunteer Event: Planting the Floating Wetlands

August 16, 2017 @ 4:00 am - 12:00 pm

Bartram’s Garden
5400 Lindbergh Blvd.
Philadelphia, 19143 United States

There’s a new attraction along the Bartram’s Garden riverfront this summer: a bio-remediating floating wetlands, created by summer intern Lucas Bolno. Join Lucas to plant the floating wetlands and help re-vegetate the river.

We will be planting five native species:

  • Asclepias Incarnata
  • Hibiscus Moschuetos
  • Iris Versicolor
  • Juncus Effusus
  • Lobelia Cardinalis

Lucas will be planting the wetlands from 9 am to 5 pm on Tuesday, August 15 and Wednesday, August 16. Volunteers welcome for either or both days; please indicate your time commitment when registering.

No special experience or skills required. Dress for working outdoors, including sun protection, and if you have them, bring work gloves and a water bottle.
