Saturday Free Boating (2019)

Smiling young man gives a thumbs-up while sitting in a red and yellow kayak in the Schuylkill River

May 25, 2019 @ 7:00 am - 11:00 am

Bartram’s Garden Community Boathouse
5400 Lindbergh Blvd.
Philadelphia, PA 19143 United States

Kayak or rowboat on this quiet stretch of the Schuylkill River. No registration or boating experience necessary! All ages are welcome, minors must be accompanied by an adult. We provide the boats, life jackets and basic instruction. There are trained rowers available if you would prefer to not row or paddle yourself. Excursions limited to 30 minutes. The last boat goes out at 3pm. On busy days this means we will close the sign up early, we recommend arriving before 2:15pm in good weather.

We cancel in the event of rain, lightning, outfall overflows (occur for 24 hours after a heavy rain) and high wind. Check this site or our Facebook page day-of for cancellation notices.

Free Saturday Boating is at our Community Boathouse, which is located on the northern tip of Bartram’s Garden on the river. Walk past the free Parking area onto the Meadow trail, which leads downhill to the Boathouse (click here for a map).
