Saturday Free Boating (2018) – CANCELLED

Adults and kids kayaking on the river.

September 1, 2018 @ 6:00 am - 10:00 am

Bartram’s Garden Community Boathouse
5400 Lindbergh Blvd.
Philadelphia, PA 19143 United States

Free

Free Boating is cancelled this week due to elevated pollution levels. Friday’s rain caused the sewer outfall in the river to overflow, making the river unsafe for recreation. For more information, go to: http://www.phillywatersheds.org/what_were_doing/documents_and_data/live_data/csocast

Please join us next week on cleaner waters!

– – –

Explore this quiet stretch of the Schuylkill River on one of our kayaks or rowboats. No registration or boating experience necessary! All ages are welcome, minors must be accompanied by an adult. We provide the boats, life jackets and basic instruction. Kayak excursions limited to 30 minutes, rowboat excursions limited to 45 minutes.

Location
Free Saturday Boating embarks from our Community Boathouse, which is located on the northern tip of Bartram’s Garden on the river. Walk past the free Parking area onto the Meadow trail, which leads downhill to the Boathouse (click here for a map).

Have questions?
Check out our FAQ.

We cancel in the event of heavy rain, high winds and outfall overflows. Please check back on the day of boating (or follow the Boathouse’s Facebook page) for cancellation notices.
