POP Harvest Mulberry Party

Join the POP (Philadelphia Orchard Project) Harvest Community Harvesting Program in celebrating the start of summer by picking mulberries on beautiful Bartram’s Garden land. Bring your own containers for harvesting, wear clothes that you don’t mind potentially getting stained (they’re very juicy when ripe!), and please prepare to donate at least half of your harvest to POP for our ongoing food pantry and local food business partnerships! Park in the parking area circle at the top of Bartram’s grounds and look for staff to guide you to the mulberries. For more community harvest updates, join our POPharvest Google Group listserv by requesting at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/popharvest
ABOUT POP
Philadelphia Orchard Project works with community-based groups and volunteers to plan and plant orchards filled with useful and edible plants. POP provides orchard design assistance, plant materials, and training in orchard care. Community organizations own, maintain, and harvest the orchards, expanding community-based food production, environmental benefits, and opportunities for nature education. Orchards are planted in formerly vacant lots, community gardens, schoolyards, and other spaces, almost exclusively in low-wealth neighborhoods where people lack access to fresh fruit.
Please join POP in building a more beautiful and bountiful city for all!
