Orchestra 2001 Performs “Inuksuit”

April 23, 2017 @ 8:00 am - 9:00 am

RAIN DATE: SUNDAY, APRIL 23, 1 PM (originally scheduled for Saturday, April 22)

Celebrate Earth Day with environmental music. Philly-based Orchestra 2001 presents Inuksuit by composer John Luther Adams: a sonic landscape that evokes the open wilderness of Alaska. The sounds of conch shell horns, sirens, gongs, bells, drums, cymbals, glockenspiels, and piccolos will emerge from instrumentalists scattered through Bartram’s Garden like nesting birds.

Bring a folding chair, pack a picnic, or walk amongst the performers to enjoy the music.
