Non-Stop Flavor Gems Release Party
Non-Stop Flavor Gems is the latest book from local artist Ana Woulfe with publisher Reptile House Comix. Fully compostable and deeply in love with the world, the book uses four invented seasonal foods to discuss ways of living that are patient, attentive and thoughtful. Taking good care of the land around you and all that resides on it while simultaneously rejecting the systems of power and oppression that seem so permanently entrenched in our current society. It’s also really cute and meant to make you laugh, so you can think of it as a sort of decolonial picture book for adults.
As we enjoy the beautiful late summer evening in the moon garden at Bartram’s, copies of the book will be for sale and seasonal refreshments and snacks will be available (fingers crossed for a bounty of paw-paws!!). Talk to friends or strangers or just sit alone and appreciate the night, it’s up to you !
Also, at 7:30 we’ll be setting light and sugar traps to attract a spectacle of nighttime insects so that we can harmlessly observe and marvel at nighttime pollinator life together.
ACCESSIBILITY – This event takes place on the patio of the Eastwick Pavilion, which is a large, open-air, covered tent space in the Garden. It is accessible via paved path, about a 10-minute walk downhill from the main Visitor Parking Loop by the 54th Street entrance or a 10-minute walk on a moderate incline from the 56th Street entrance. The path to the Pavilion itself is on gravel. The restrooms in the Pavilion are not ADA-accessible. The nearest accessible restrooms are located off of the Barnyard, below the Lath house, but have no automated doors.
We’re happy to make accommodations for guests with mobility limitations. Large portions of our 50+ acre botanical garden can be explored via wheelchair, though some of our paths should be used at your own discretion. If you have questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out ahead of time to .

Ana Woulfe is a queer femme artist, printmaker, musician, transexuelle, smiley face, etc. etc. living on occupied Lenape land (“Philadelphia”). She has been thriving in the greater punk underground since she was a teenaged freak and makes a point of not prioritizing art as a method of accumulating capital – instead focusing on making things as a way to meet new people, build community and share ideas. She is committed to Decolonization & many other radical practices, and her art often revolves around translating those concepts into accessible stories and images.
For a decade and a half, these translations have taken the form of critically acclaimed comics, essays, international tours, or whatever other medium makes the most sense in the moment. These varied art forms are practiced relationally, seeking change in a small, thoughtful, and intrinsically human manner as a way of upending the endless demands for scale and productivity made by the global capitalist system.
