Join us for this annual day of service in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Your volunteer efforts can make an incredible difference at Bartram’s Garden!

Health reminders: Masks must be worn in accordance with Pennsylvania and City of Philadelphia COVID-19 requirements. If you are sick or concerned about symptoms, please do not volunteer. Public restrooms will be open for the duration of the volunteer day and will be disinfected regularly. Hand sanitizer will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up with their pods if possible.

Volunteers must register below to participate!

Volunteers will assist Bartram’s Garden staff in collecting trash and debris throughout the site. A small group of volunteers will assist in the greenhouses with pot sanitation to prepare for spring plantings.

Volunteers will meet outside the Welcome Center at 9:30 AM and be separated into groups and provided with instructions and safety protocols for the day. Out of respect and safety for our staff and others, please arrive on time!

Other things look forward to post your volunteer session:

  • Live programming from 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
  • MLK speeches to be screened in the Coach House

  • Free full length film – Ava DuVernay’s 13TH . Combining archival footage with testimony from activists and scholars, director Ava DuVernay’s examination of the U.S. prison system looks at how the country’s history of racial inequality drives the high rate of incarceration in America. This piercing, Oscar-nominated film won Best Documentary at the Emmys, the BAFTAs and the NAACP Image Awards.
