As part of a partnership with the Sierra Club, this is a small group kayak tour of the unique landscape of the refineries and industrialized areas of the lower Schuylkill river. The tour will educate paddlers on how fossil fuel industries impact the past, present, and future of our city. Kayaks, paddles, and lifejackets will be provided. All skill levels welcome!
Registration is required. A donation of $5 for Bartram’s Garden members and $10 for non-members is suggested. No advanced payment required to register.
We are offering this tour twice, on June 22nd and July 3rd. Please only sign up for one tour; it is the same program on both dates. Expect moderate physical exertion. Minors must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Children 10 years and younger are not allowed to be in a boat alone – adult must accompany them in a tandem kayak.
