Harvest Moon Rowboating (2018)

  • Date: September 24, 2018
  • Time: 2:00pm - 5:00pm

A heads up on boating for this evening: Currently rowboats will be available for 15 minute excursions out in the river on a first come, first served basis. There is a chance of windy and rainy conditions tonight. If the weather turns out to make it too difficult for people to boat safely we will shut the boating down. There will be on land activities, including music, art activities, refreshments and cider pressing.

Part of our Full Moon Rowboating series.

Enjoy Tide Field under the moonlight. Row the Full Moon tide in illuminated skiffs built by Philly youth while enjoying sounds by Osagie. Take in a nighttime cooking demonstration and a tasting of the season’s bountiful harvest with the Vetri Mobile Teaching Kitchen.

Row in skiffs built by Philly youth. Boats, lights, lifevests and basic instruction provided. 30 minute time limit for boating.

PLUS: On-location apple pressing and delicious cider-based drinks

This event is FREE and open to the public!

In partnership with The Free Library of Philadelphia, we have added a Pokémon GO component to the evening! Trainers will be able to enjoy Lures that last for hours, temporary PokéStops and Gyms, and may see more Pokémon than usual during the kick off for a brand new set of programs focused on exploring Philadelphia’s communities.

This is part of our Art@Bartram series. Art@Bartram’s is a multi-year collaborative initiative between Bartram’s Garden and Mural Arts Philadelphia, supported by the William Penn Foundation, that celebrates the Schuylkill River trail and its surrounding landscape, and promotes environmental stewardship.
