Cvgebird Presents: FRIDA TRAP Screening – An Ode To Frida Kahlo

July 23, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

Bartram’s Garden
5400 Lindbergh Blvd.
Philadelphia, 19143 United States

Join Cvgebird for a public screening of their short-film music video FRIDA TRAP at Bartram’s Garden.

Through the modern lenses of art, poetry, music, culture, and history, Cvgebird takes us on a journey through their hometown to pay homage to the Mexican surrealist painter, poet, and political activist Frida Kahlo. Present-day Philadelphia sets the scene for this cinematic masterpiece of a music video that is deeply influenced by Kahlo’s Latinx-Indigenous heritage and the artist’s deep roots in the city itself. Finding the intersection of our collective struggle with the affirmation of joyous revolution, Cvgebird delivers us a visual anthem in FRIDA TRAP.

Screening Times:

  • 12:30pm – Screening
  • 1:15pm – Screening plus Q&A
  • 2:45pm – Live Cvgebird performance, Screening, and Q&A
