Field Notes on Remembering: A Dance Performance by Christina Catanese and Talia Mason (2019)

May 18, 2019 @ 7:00 am - 10:00 am

Ginkgo Lawn
5400 Lindbergh Blvd
Philadelphia, PA,

***Two performances: 12pm-1pm and 2pm-3pm

Field Notes on Remembering is an evolving dance work focused on the ginkgo tree, exploring memory, atonement, and ancestry on both personal and planetary levels. This performance will take place near and with the large ginkgo tree at Bartram’s Garden, which was planted in 1785 and is thought to be the oldest of its species in North America. Audiences will be invited to learn about the fascinating life history of one of the oldest, most familiar, and most resilient tree species on earth, as well as reflect on their own memories, stories, and lineages. This performance is free to attend.

Seating on the lawn. Feel free to bring a blanket! Accessibility info: Large portions of our 50+ acre botanical garden can be explored via wheelchair, though some of our paths are currently awaiting repairs and should be used at your own discretion. If you have questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to reach out ahead of the event.
