Botanical Illustration (2019)

  • Date: June 30, 2019
  • Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm

Time: 1:00pm – 4:00pm

Bartram’s Garden boasts a rich history of observers who have used their artistic talents to describe the natural world around them. In this workshop, we’ll practice the time honored tradition of botanical illustration. Working from live specimens, participants will hone their drawing skills and stretch their creativity to new limits using watercolor, ink, and other materials. This program is designed for all skill levels; materials and instruction will be provided as needed.

Teaching artist Heather Rinehart approaches fine art through her love of science and history. She has a professional background in illustration and design and a deep interest in nature and storytelling, offering her student’s instruction in multi-disciplinary place-based art.
