Bartram’s Mile: Riverfront Walk
Join us for this outdoor excursion and find out more about an exciting project that is underway to convert one mile of currently vacant riverfront property into public green space! Please be sure to wear comfortable shoes, bring water, and dress for the weather.
Special guests: Maitreyi Roy (Executive Director of Bartram’s Garden), Mark Focht (First Deputy Commissioner of Parks & Facilities for the Philadelphia Parks & Recreation Department), and Jose Alminana (Adropogon Associates).
This project is currently being referred to as “Bartram’s Mile” and several partners are involved: Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, the Schuylkill River Development Corporation (SRDC) and the John Bartram Association. A series of public events and meetings will be convened over the next few months by PennPraxis. Your input is essential to this project and will help the City of Philadelphia create a vibrant public space to be enjoyed for years to come.
