Workshop: Outdoor Mushroom Cultivation

May 25, 2016 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Bartram’s Garden
5400 Lindbergh Blvd.
Philadelphia, 19143 United States

Back by popular demand, Mycopolitan co-owner Brian Versek and Philadelphia Orchard Project program director Robyn Mello will lead an evening workshop providing participants with step-by-step instructions, starters, and examples to turn their own outdoor space – backyard, garden, vacant lot, or flowerpot – into a viable ecosystem for edible mushrooms, perennial edible plants and beneficial insects!

Brian and Robyn have seen mushroom success in several of POP’s 54 community orchard sites throughout the city, and they both have extensive experience using permaculture design to turn Philly’s vacant lots into edible urban utopias. You’ll gain insight into the advantages of proactively incorporating fungi into your garden, plenty of tips from the trade, and hands-on experience in outdoor inoculation. Edible mushroom spawn and starter edible perennial included with your ticket.
