Bicycling Tour: Bartram’s Mile

Join us for a group bike excursion along the Bartram’s Mile Trail. This mile-long section of the Schuylkill River Trail opened in April 2017. We will start at the 56th St. Plaza and journey north through Bartram’s Garden to the Grays Ferry Bridge, and then return along the same path. Round trip is 2.2 miles. Make+Take: Healing Plants + Dyes (2021)

This workshop will look at the intersection of medicine and natural dyes. Many of the botanicals used in natural dying have the additional function of healing as well. Working with elderberry, marigold, and comfrey we’ll look at the healing properties and herbal preparations  of these dye plants. In this workshop you will learn how to create unique patterns and surface designs using a variety of resist techniques including wax resist, paste resist, tying, binding, clamping.
