“Bartram Boxes Remix” exhibition at Fuller Craft Museum

January 26, 2017

January 21 – April 16, 2017

Now on exhibition at the Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton, MA, Bartram’s Boxes Remix is a collaborative project between the Center for Art in Wood and Bartram’s Garden, both in Philadelphia. The pieces in this traveling exhibition reference the boxes containing seeds, plants and curiosities that John Bartram sent back to his colleagues and clients in England. The show includes sculptural objects and installations created out of salvaged wood and other materials found in Bartram’s Garden.

In the spirit of John Bartram’s desire to share his passion for trees and other plants, Bartram’s Boxes Remix brings together artists who created works in wood and other materials from Bartram’s Garden. Artists were able to select from 13 types of wood from the garden which fell during a wind storm over 3 years ago.
