Construction Opportunity at Bartram's Garden
The John Bartram Association (JBA), the nonprofit organization which operates Bartram’s Garden, will be accepting bids for two contracts associated with the design, manufacture, and delivery of a floating dock and associated components to be located on the Schuylkill River, within the grounds of Bartram’s Garden in Philadelphia, PA. The existing dock consists of polyethylene floats filled with closed cell foam, supported on an aluminum frame and anchored by guide piles. It was fabricated by Technomarine in 2005. The new dock will be used to expand an existing community dock, providing lower freeboard and ramped kayak launches. The first contract opportunity is for the fabrication and delivery of the dock structure, per the plans and specifications developed by the engineering consultant to JBA, Urban Engineers. The second contract opportunity is for the site and installation work.
The bid documents will be available on September 2, 2020, for the dock fabrication work and on September 17, 2020, for the site and installation work.
Qualified contractors who wish to receive the bid documents should send an email expression of interest to Capital Projects Coordinator, firstname.lastname@example.org. Bid documents will be posted on a secure FTP site.
This project is funded in part by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. As such, compliance with Pennsylvania prevailing wage requirements is expected for contracted construction work.
Minority and women-owned businesses are encouraged to apply.
