WETLAND

Thousands of native wetland plants, including bullrushes, marsh grasses, irises, hibiscuses, and marsh roses were planted in Fall 1997 in Bartram's 1.5-acre wetland, the first interpretive and interactive wetland along the lower Schuylkill River.

In addition to recreational activities, the wetland provides new habitat for wildlife, including many shorebirds, and helps improve the quality of river.
