HOURS & GARDEN TOUR INFORMATION


BASICS

Maps of the 45-acre grounds are available at the information kiosk by the Bartram Barn and in the Museum Shop. Bicycles, pets, smoking, and picnicking are prohibited in the eight-acre c. 1728 botanic garden. Pets are welcome elsewhere on the grounds but must be leashed in accordance with city ordinances.

Outside of the historic garden area, picnickers are invited to throw a blanket on the ground or dine at our picnic tables.  Beverages and snacks are available in the Museum Shop. A baseball diamond and playground are also on site.

May 1 to December 19

The Grounds at Bartram's Garden are free and open to the public, except on City-observed holidays.

Museum Shop
The Museum Shop is open Friday to Sunday from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm.

Guided Tours
Guided tours of the House or Garden are available for an admission fee on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We welcome walk-ins, but request reservations for groups of over 10 people.

Friday to Sunday
Garden tours: 10:30 am, 12:30 pm, 2:30 pm
House tours: 11:30 am, 1:30 pm

We also offer a special tour of Mark Dion's Travels of William Bartram - Reconsidered exhibition, which has been extended through the summer of 2009. This tour is available on Saturdays at 3:30 pm.

Tour admission fee is $10 for adults, $8 seniors (62 and over) and students, and children under 12 are free with adults. Members receive admission for $8 or free with Program Pass (click to join!)

Group Tours
Reservations are requested for groups over 10 people. Weekday tours and gourmet box lunches are available with advance registration. For arrangments and information about special group rates , please call Kim Massare at (215) 729-5281 ext. 112. Ample free parking; buses welcome.

A full education program and special rates are offered for school groups.
