AT BARTRAM'S GARDEN
Colonial
naturalist John Bartram's 45-acre farm on the grassy banks of the Schuylkill
River provides a unique and fun outdoor classroom for quality education
programs in natural history, colonial history, and environmental science. Kids really enjoy learning here!
Programs are available all year for pre-school through high school students.
Choose from a variety of seasonal programs including tree identification, cider-making, botanical illustration,
apiculture, ornithology, colonial food preparation,
medicinal herbs, and more. Call the Education Department at 215.729.5281 x104,
for detailed descriptions of the classes or to make a reservation.
Several Bartram educational programs are ideal for adults (church groups, senior centers, garden clubs, etc.), including tree identification, botanical illustration, medicinal herbs, and map study of Philadelphia then and now.

TRAVELING TRUNK PROGRAMS
A Bartram educator will visit your school or organization to provide hands-on activities and demonstrations on a variety of subjects, including medicinal herbs, botanical illustration, tree identification, and ice-cream making (summer only). The $100 fee includes 35 participants. 1-2 hours. Most programs appropriate for children and adults.
